FAQs

Do you have any questions?

How long will it take to receive my order?

For handmade concrete candles - once your order is placed, it takes 5-7 business days to create your candles from scratch. After this time, your order will be shipped based off your shipping choice at checkout. Orders typically arrive in 2-3 days after shipped. Free shipping typically takes 3-5 days to deliver.

Room Sprays, Reed Diffusers, and Glass Candles (if ordered without any concrete items) take only 2-3 days to curate, then are shipped immediately and will arrive based off your shipping choice.

Please note that during peak holiday seasons, shipping times may be longer than usual. If you have any questions or concerns about the status of your order, please don't hesitate to reach out.

How do I repurpose my concrete vessel?

When your candle has finished its final burn, you can melt, boil, or freeze out the excess wax. Take an old spoon or spatula and scrape out the wax, then use soap and water to remove excess residue. Ta-da! You have a multifunctional vessel. Use it for cotton rounds, swabs, make-up brushes, toothbrushes, coin jar, jewelry, succulents, a small plant, you name it! Anything your heart desires.

How do I keep the wick trimmed?

Ideally, wick trimmers should be used to keep the wick trimmed to 1/4". However, since most of us don't own wick trimmers, pinching off the excess black tip of the wick after it has burned (and you let it cool of course) with your fingers works just fine. If you don't like sooty fingers, just wrap a tissue around your fingers and pinch it off. Remember, if you don't keep your wood wick trimmed to 1/4", your candle could burn too hot and too fast. If your candle flame flickers or you notice smoke, it should be extinguished. Allow to cool, trim wick, check for drafts, then re-light.

How long can I let my candle burn?

For our candles, typically, 2-4 hours. On your first burn you want to make sure you get a full melt pool that reaches the edges of the vessel before you blow it out. If you don't, you'll get a ring around the wick and create a well that doesn't allow the candle to burn efficiently. Candles have "candle memory" which means they remember the first melt. If you don't melt the wax to the edges of the candle the first time, it may continue to burn to its previous diameter thereafter.

Where do I "pick-up" my order if I select pick-up option?

If you opt to pick-up your order from our home location - once your order is placed, your concrete candle will be ready in 7-10 business days. If finished sooner we will contact you to let you know.

For Room Sprays, Reed Diffusers, and Glass Candles, your order will be ready for pickup within 3-5 days of placement. Once ready we will reach out via email or phone number to confirm a date/time that works best for pickup at our home location.

Is concrete even safe for candles? I heard it's not eco-friendly.

After months of research and wanting to sustain our eco-friendly standard, we found a concrete mixture that met the standards we wanted to abide by. Our concrete mixture meets the USGBC LEED green building standards as an eco-friendly cement. We also utilize eco-friendly water based NO VOC sealants to prevent them from cracking. A huge part of our vision for Hue Heritage is for our consumers to upcycle or repurpose our vessels which can help reduce any carbon footprint.

Why Coconut-Apricot and Pure Soy Wax?

We opted for Coconut/Apricot and 100% Pure Soy over other waxes due to its cleaner nature (unlike paraffin wax) and superior cold and hot throw. We also love that both are vegan friendly (unlike beeswax & tallow) and cruelty-free (also unlike beeswax & tallow), Coconut/Apricot Wax maintains a creamy luxurious appearance throughout burn, has a strong cold throw (emits a smell or fragrance without even burning), and is eco-conscious. Soy Wax is 100% natural, biodegradable, and burns slower for more longevity. It does burn a little more "ugly" as some say, but it gives the candle personality - as we like to say :)

Why wood wicks? Are they better than cotton wicks?

To be honest, we LOVE the crackling sound they emit, and we also think they add a touch of elegance to the candles. But from a scientific standpoint, we chose wood wicks because they disperse fragrance quicker and more efficiently than cotton wicks. One study showed that wood wicks give 35% more fragrance throw in a room vs cotton. They do have a quicker burn-time, but we think the trade-off is worth it!
